One small step for Monkey Kind...

Clyde ponders Space Travel at the Smithsonian Aeronautical and Space Museum in Washington DC.

He was amazed that those little people were smaller than Ooompa Loompas!

Uncle Cam and Aunty Cheryl nearly lost Clyde into the Space Shuttle Display!

Brown Food

Clyde tries some local delicacies at the American Museum of National History.

The Buffalos here have wings!

Clyde is also trying his best to camouflage himself with the food – brown everywhere!

Me and da Cuz hang out - ow!

Clyde meets his cuz at the American Museum of National History.  He was a little upset that his cuz was not as animated as he was – perhaps he was stuffed climbing nearly 15 monkeys high in that glass case?

He was impressed that his cuz could levitate on a stick though!
Perhaps he was David Capuchin Copperfield?

Mini Me

Clyde ponders the world at the feet of Lady Liberty.

The is Clyde’s far away stare – a pose even Fabio would envy!

Clyde has also learned to stand without the help of The Hand!
A big day for all of us!

The Hand

Clyde meets the other end of The Hand!

And what a cute score!

Clyde has a reason for the smile on his face – you can’t see his tail!

It was cold!

The Cold

Clyde was quite cold at Lady Liberty so the hand made sure he was warm!

At her feet?

Clyde with a view of the Chandals of Lady Liberty.

New York City spans the background.

Clyde was very scared – this was higher than 15,000 monkeys but The Hand was there to comfort him!

Does my tail look big at this angle?

Clyde is still more than 15,000 monkeys off the ground but getting used to the height.

He is so high that everything else around him is blurry!
Clyde Springsteen takes on America!

The Climb

Clyde is now 15,000 monkeys off the ground.
(you just have to ignore the hand and the obvious lines in the poster!)

Liberty's Face

The original face off the old lady – Due to wear and tear she had to be replaced.  There is speculation that Lady Liberty looks very much like the architects mother – Jandals and all!

Clyde thought she was one ugly mother!

Liberty's Light?

Clyde was very interested in the old light taken off Liberty.

When installed, this light attracted over 100 birds to their deaths!  The current flame is gilded with no light – as the original architect first suggested.

Sailing Away

Clyde on the Liberty Island Ferry on his way to see Lady Liberty.  He was fascinated by stories of such s big bird without feathers.

Last time he saw Liberty – she was so teeny, tiny and looked just like a Barbie Doll from the distant land of FAO Schwartz!

This shot was taken before Clyde was passed through security  X-ray after riding in Uncle Cam’s pocket.

So what do monkeys eat, anyway?

Apparently French Macaroons.

This tasty Almond, meringue treat filled with ganache seems to be a favourite for Clyde!

So much so, he was caught with his head in the feed bag on more than one occasion!

Who's a monkeys' uncle?

Clyde’s hometown of FAO Schwartz in New York City, New York with his saviour – Uncle Cam.

The Story

This is the travel log of Clyde the Monkey.

Clyde was born at FAO Schwartz in New York City, New York on 24 April, 2011.

He was adopted by Cheryl and Cam as a pet for Duncan and Ryan back in Australia.  These would be Clyde’s new parents.

Clyde is a well travelled little fellow and it is expected that this will be the first of many adventures for Clyde the Monkey!

Clyde's International Adventure

It all started with THE BIG RED BOOK and “The Story”...
